Hilltoppers Camping Club Rally

It was a HUGE Success at the Annual Purple Pig fundraiser, September 24, 2009.



You may well be proud that the members of the Fullerton Elks’ Hilltoppers served us all well, at the 2009 Elks Rally. We had a great turnout of rigs, with 17 out of the 20 we had last year, while the overall attendance was down about 45%. We also had two hotel dwellers to add to our total, PDDGER, John McCue and Chairman of the Board, Butch Rock.



The money we raised for the handicapped children, through the State Major Project (Purple Pig), was also down slightly. But considering the overall attendance of people at the event (who we sold ice cream, hats and other stuff too), we did very well. Fullerton’s 50/50 gave away $770 to the winner and we raised approximately $2,000 for the weekend’s donation (exact totals not available yet). This brought the weekend total for the entire Rally to approximately $25,000.



Mary Kay and I would like to thank the hard working volunteers who attended; Co-chairman, Louie & Button Burke and Geoff & Vivian Gleed, Jim & Lari Bessler, Ray & Marianne Bousher, Buz & Shirley Buxbaum, Manny & Ellie Castillo, Marianne Conner, Art Ginsburg & Judy Foley, Bill & Pauline Ling, Claude & Marki Lowe, Jim & Marci Mannan, Ron & Lupe Von Soosten, Bernie & Mary Ruiz and Gene & Anita Shumski. Due to your hard work and dedication we have served the children well.

We would also like to mention that we could not have done it without the generous donations from the Stater Bros. at Brea & Bastanchury.
